Our Story
Her Side
Everything fell into place for us. From the moment we met on August 27th, 2004 until this very second, it’s as though our lives have been mapped out for us. I first saw Dipendra on Myspace.com – new to the Santa Cruz area, I thought I’d utilize my membership. I remember the moment quite well. I had just finished watching Francisco Gonzales play a tennis match in the Olympics and for some reason, I became inspired to look for new people to meet. I was immediately drawn to Dipendra’s name. Thinking it was some kind of nickname or something, I messaged him – nothing too lengthy just a “Hi I’m Breanna, I’m new to the area…what is there to do here?” I was more than excited when he replied back and was intrigued when I found out his profile name WAS his real name!
We began chatting more and more and finally met up on August 27th. We played pool, ate at Taqueria Vallarta in downtown Santa Cruz, and finished the night off at the beach. I went to sleep that night knowing I had met someone that was going to have a great impact on my life. I was right…as usual
….Dipendra is my inspiration, my heart, my soul. I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
His Side
Love has a way of finding you when you least expect it. I’m a shy person, so meeting people online was something I tried before but never succeeded at. When I signed up for Myspace, I was expecting more of the same. I was pleasantly surprised when Breanna messaged me. We exchanged IM’s for a few days and had a long phone conversation while “virtually” watching an A’s game together. Honestly, I was a little wary of her age at first but once we talked on the phone I could tell that she was mature beyond her years. This was easy to judge because she did most of the talking
(did I mention I hate talking on the phone?). I convinced her to let me take her out on a tour of Santa Cruz. I learned immediately of her competitive nature during our first pool matches. She tried to downplay it, but I could tell she hated losing. I think she managed to beat me twice and didn’t rub it in too much (like she does now). After eating we went to the beach at Rio Del Mar and spent the rest of the night talking next to a dimming bonfire. I didn’t want the night to end!
When it was time to say goodbye I couldn’t help but ask her for another date the next day! Yes I broke all the rules of dating, risked it all – and it paid off. Breanna is so wonderful and makes my life complete. She has made me a better person and has always been supportive of everything I do. I love her with all my heart and look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.
